LiarsCheatersRUs
LiarsCheatersRUs is a site which allows people to anonymously post "reviews" of the individuals they've dated.
Take a lawyer, his ex-girlfriends, a website which allows people to post "reviews" of their failed relationships, and add a dash of drama. Mix 'em all up and you'll get the story I'm about to tell you — a strange tale which reminds us that no one ever really wins when former lovers duke it out.
According to Staci Zaretsky at Above The Law, the mess started when Matthew Couloute Jr. — a former prosecutor and Court TV analyst — realized that some entries on a website called LiarsCheatersRUs were making his life difficult.

This screenshot shows a LiarsCheatersRUs entry about Matthew Couloute Jr., which was written by his ex-girlfriend, Amanda Ryncarz.
LiarsCheatersRUs is a site which allows people to anonymously post "reviews" of the individuals they've dated in order to warn their future lovers about cheatin' hearts and wanderin' eyes. Couloute had several such reviews written about him and — according to him — they're affecting what people who Google search him see and even causing him to lose legal clients.
So he decided to sue the women he believes wrote those scathing reviews of him.

LiarsCheatersRUs
This screenshot shows a LiarsCheatersRUs entry about Matthew Couloute Jr., which was allegedly written by his ex-girlfriend, Stacey Blitsch.
Couloute's ex-girlfriends, Amanda Ryncarz and Stacey Blitsch, are subjects of his lawsuit. While Ryncarz has confessed that she is behind one of the anonymous reviews, Blitsch denies posting an entry on LiarsCheatersRUs. Both of the women are being represented by Gloria Allred, a lawyer known for taking on controversial cases — particularly those which focus on the protection of women's rights — and challenging controversial figures, among them O.J. Simpson, Michael Jackson, Bill Clinton and Anthony Weiner.
According to Above the Law, Allred explained that she believes Couloute's lawsuit shouldn't even be allowed in the first place:
I think the minimum the women should be allowed to do is to speak out and speak the truth about the men who they have had relationships [with] and about the men who have hurt them. We believe lawsuits like this should not be allowed. This is free speech. Women must have a voice and be able to speak to each other on matters of common interest without fear of being dragged into court.
Apparently Couloute's lawsuit will be heard in court early this year, so we'll have to wait just a bit longer to see how this particular tale plays out — and to know if we could be in legal jeopardy for venting about our ex-boyfriends and ex-girlfriends in a public forum.

Good grief!
The fact that this lawyer is suing over this speaks volumes about his character.
I'd like to go to all of those websites and leave a review about my ex, to warn others, but then I might be sued. Be careful out there when dating. Don't rush into a relationship, and learn how to not be in denial. There are always "red flags."
Problem with these web-sites or any similar offering is they allow someone to post a letter/comment regarding someone in particular, and its content may or maynot be factual... Even if something is true, you may be sued for liable, defamation of character, etc... So, get a life and move-on and put it behind you as a painful lesson learned. From my perspective, as long as there's been men/women, there'll always be arguments, lies, cheating, etc... on both sides, it's not stictly a male or a female trait, both sexes practice it routinely.
Nice! haha
I can understand if he's loosing clients, but really, he's a lawyer so they should expect some truth bending. I wonder if the girls could sue him for some of the $ he's making off of people who come to him because they want someone who can lie well....?
Crazy a*s people.
It is called libel and slander. You cannot say or print anything that may cause defamation of character, even if it is true. Your former employer cannot say bad things about you to someone checking on your references. Your facebook page is one thing, but a public forum is no different than a newspaper or personal conversation. Everyone should be held responsible for what is printed. The women should be sued AND the website for allowing this. They should change their format to: would not date again. That's it. Legally I can only tell a person that I will or will not hire a person again, no matter what they did, even if it was criminal.
Sorry sweetcheek, the girls are not looking for a job. Just exposing a lying cheating bastard.
Take your libel and slander and go shove it up your ass! (Good, now come sue me!)
Yes because girls are totally honest and non-bais and give both sides of the story while hiding behind an anonymous persona.... I all for what this website is doing but its totally one sided... and should not be taken seriously to bring a lawsuit or in any aspect of decision making... that is like suing someone for spreading rumors by passing notes in class....
I just tried to go to the site for entertainment.... 403 forbidden error.
to prove libel has taken place you have to first prove the statement is false. then you have to prove that the statement caused harm. then you have to prove the person being accused of libel didnt preform the proper research to verify that the statement is false.
emphasis on prove.
good luck on that. this guy is just wasting peoples time. most likely his sex life is being devastated and he is now reaping what he sowed for being a douche.
S-Man-2365384----- I am hoping that was an attempt at sarcasm, the girls aren't looking for a job but they are hurting his business with what they say. Slander is the negative spoken word and libel is the negative written word. Both fall under the category of defamation. Gloria Allred should brush up on the law before she makes statements about this never entering a court. Her clients better have absolute proof of their claims. Every single thing they have written about the guy they better be able to back it up. You can not write on a public forum and just hide behind freedom of speech if you are stating it to be fact. He can have his day in court so these ladies can prove that what they said was true. They are victims of what exactly? This was dating and not marriage, correct?
Also, the site is not serving its intended purpose of warning people about liars and cheats. It is much broader when the comments can be found in a Google search. I didn't realize that your livelihood should be ruined because you broke up with someone.
What gives these women the right to post anonymously? You can post the other persons name but not state who you are. This is a system where anyone can post about anyone? Pick a random name from the phone book and post. All the while doing it anonymously but identifying the person they are upset with. If I was on a site like that and there were comments about me that could not possibly be verified I want to know who posted them and have the comments removed and possibly take them to civil court.
How about a site called, Imadeabadchoice dot com? These women chose to go out with the man. Did they take it slow? Did they move fast? Did they get to know him before the lawyer paycheck clouded their judgement? How did he really screw you? Did he have you move in with him? Quit school? Got you pregnant? Give you an STD? Give up your worldly possessions? How did it affect your life other than crying yourself to sleep for a week because boo hoo, you got dumped? Hundreds of millions of people in the US alone and this one guy was the end all be all??????
The funny thing is you never hear "woe is me" tales about regular guys who cheat, only the ones with money. Allred represented the women Tiger slept with but if Tiger was replaced by Joe the Plumber nobody would give it a second thought.
How about a site for reporting gold diggers. Oh wait, women never trade on their looks to get by in life. They've never reached in the trash can for that used condom to get themselves pregnant by the rich guy they met at the club. All those women really thought Tiger was leaving his wife????? Seriously? What about the women that slept with Shawn Kemp even knowing he fathered 150 kids?
I guess using a man for his money just isn't right if he lies and cheats on you. Yes this is speculation but so is everything in the story and every other comment made. I don't know either party involved and none of us know what was said behind closed doors.
I also think the site should be shut down because if this can go on with no complaints why can't we have other sites like, hesucksinbed dot com or theirkidsarebrats.com........you know, a site for anything negative to say about anyone. Can't see the harm in that, right? Look up the kids online before inviting them to your child's birthday party. Check your smartphone app to see if that person who's been buying you drinks is worth going home with.
I think it is good to know if felons and sex offenders live in your neighborhood but I already know plenty of a-holes and bitches, I don't need a list posted on the internet. Friends don't let friends date morons, not websites.
Categorically false. Truth is the absolute defense against claims of Defamation.
@Browns Backer
As for no one cares about Joe Plumber, that is because recording things Joe Plumber did does not generate any money so the major news outlets doesn't care for it.
Website like the aforementioned is exactly what Joe Plumber and his partners need. Now if Person A cheats on you, you can go on the forum and say he did. If Person B is a great date then you should be able to do the same.
The advantage is that now everything you do is judged by others, the disadvantage is that now everything you do is judged by others.
It is a fair trade. If something is not true then that is defamation and the law will take care of it. But IMHO, it is better to have this sort of public forum for grievances than without. The age of information has its dark corners, but ultimately I think it is a move to a positive direction.
Where do you live that it's illegal to tell the truth?
Slandering his professional name with a personal accusation that has nothing to do with his profession is illegal
I thought all this time that libel and slander only existed if what was passed was untrue. If you are a thief and I say you are a thief and it can be proved true I still am sued for slander? Notice Allred only says that women should be able to say and print to expose men as opposed to people exposing people, presumably a man outing the golddigger or cheating girlfriend would be a case she would take...sueing the guy.
Wyllyrd, Browns,
Slander and libel only apply to false accusations. Since there is no way to objectively prove if what she said is true or not he cannot win the case. This is why Newt is screwed with his open marriage issue as well. It is much harder to prove that you did not do something then to prove that you did.
He has no unbiased sources for testimony; his clients, friends, and family are not objective witnesses and neither are hers.
Well, the truth hurts sometimes. Suck it up lawyer dude. If more than one is saying something there must be some merit to it. Just sayin'.
So it isn't remotely possible that two women decided to screw this guy over? We don't even know for a fact if it was two different women posting. They post anonymously so one woman could just as easily posted as more than one woman.
Let me make this clear, I'm not defending a cheat. I am defending the fact that a site like this needs to have some responsibility. It shouldn't be searchable on Google. It is supposed to be a warning tool instead it is ruining parts of this guys life outside of his bedroom because now anyone can see this guys personal life.
More and more, as each generation passes, we blur the line between the digital and real world. We seem to think that a free post online is somehow different. The only way I see it being different is that it can do more widespread damage over a much shorter period of time. Ask anyone that accidentally sent a tweet to the world instead of the person it was meant for. These women could have achieved the same goal if they would have posted their complaints in the local newspaper as an opinion piece. That would have cost money, required more effort and would have exposed them too. We can't have that now can we?
It doesn't matter if it's true, he wasn't obligated by law to be loyal since they were not married. But since they discredited his professional name, with words that have nothing to do with his profession, they did break the law.
Well, maybe he'll sue me too because he's obviously not the sharpest tool in the shed, now everyone/anyone that DIDN'T know what his ex's thought about him, sure will now!
Seems like a case of the Pot calling the Kettle black...
Maybe he got what he deserved.
This reminds of one of the newer Twilite Zones. Where a man needs a date for a important function. But when he tries to get someone he keeps getting turned down. Then in the end they reveal that all the women use a service to keep records of dates. Just like a fico score. And they just run a credit check. Dont they say no credit is bad credit?
Browns, got a case of "I hate women syndrome" there buddy? Seems you have women issues that you need to work out....maybe create a sister (no pun intended ) site for men. It might make you feel better and give you an outlet other that these news sites to vent. Sheesh, ever think that the man really IS a slimeball, considering more than one woman had the same opinion of him?
FYI, if you are not MARRIED then he broke no law cheating and you slandered his professional name
By that same token US, its not slander if its true. If he can prove in court that the statements are false, then good for him. But if not, then "Sticks and stones, sticks and stones".
Except it is illegal to target his professional name with a private matter...try again
Its an opinon, just an opinion...and thats legal. If one doesn't like a company's performance and writes a bad review, its allowed. Professional or not, its an opinion, not slander. Alls fair in love and war, but you should know that.
What don't you understand? Attacking a PROFESSIONAL NAME with a PERSONAL matter is illegal, that has already gone to court and won. Dale Ernhart Jr sued over this exact thing and won since his name is used professionally and could not be the target of a personal grudge.
If this was an ex-wife doing it, that would be different. But by law, there was no grounds for a girlfriend to attack his business. He isn't sueing for slander if you failed to notice, he is sueing for attacking his professional name.
Dont know what happened to my last comment...so here goes....
So USMarine can relax himself and not have an anurism and to set the record straight, it is NOT ok for man OR woman to behave this way in a dating relationship. Geeze, like I had to actually put that in print! It just so happens that a man is being called out this time for his behavior, it could have easily been a women! If he is so concerned about his professional name, then maybe he should have acted a little more professional in his dating life. What just slays me is he is calling more negative attention to his professional name with this lawsuit than the scorned women did when they called him out on it! So, US, stop being so butt hurt and relax man!
I have had enough of play time and need to get back to life. Bye ya!
Girls are totally honest and non-bais and give both sides of the story while hiding behind an anonymous persona.... I all for what this website is doing but its totally one sided... and should not be taken seriously to bring a lawsuit or in any aspect of decision making... that is like suing someone for spreading rumors by passing notes in class....
As someone who once had someone else's bad reputation transferred over to me by people who knew that guy and assumed I was just like him (after five minutes of knowing me when I was on heavy pain killers and my face all swollen up), and was routinely attacked, vilified, blacklisted, and eventually run out of a scene, I find this sort of thing reprehensible.
