Steve Jobs biography is Amazon's best-selling book of 2011

Simon and Schuster

Amazon.com is out this morning with the list of its top 10 best-selling books of 2011, and the Steve Jobs biography by Walter Isaacson is at the top, despite having the disadvantage of being released toward the end of the year.

The list is based on unit sales of traditional print books and titles for Amazon’s Kindle electronic reader.

In a notable development for e-books, two of the top 10 titles come from the Kindle Direct Publishing program for indie authors and made the list based on their Kindle sales alone, Amazon says. They were  “The Mill River Recluse” by Darcie Chan, at No. 4; and “The Abbey” by Chris Culver, at No. 9.

The biography of Jobs is the first authorized book on the Apple co-founder’s life. Published by Simon & Schuster, the book had been set for release next year, but was pushed up to November, and then to October after Jobs’ death.

Here’s the full list of top 10 best-selling books of 2011 from Amazon.com.

Seriously??? I can only guess at who would spend the money on ego-based journalism like this. I can only guess he off-shores the book profits as well. I'm sure Steve was a good guy, to some.

Aren' t we getting enough of the 1%'r rhetoric via Donald Trump and The Newt. You'll have to read 'Blink' to understand how Steve got to where he was, something Steve didn't understand himself. His ego was larger then one human should be burdened with, playing a King in the Silicon Valley. That coupled with his self described 'attaboy's' do not build the path to a higher spiritual state. Albeit, that is how he portrayed his 'thinker' facade. HIs acolytes display a fierceness to bow down to the one they serve, it was/is frightening to witness. Yeah, Steve got there all on his own, Job Creator (sic). It is that thinking that 'allowed' Apple to Copyright the IPOD design under a 'Shell Corporation' in the Cayman Islands. That opened the 'financial' path to 'offshoring' 80% of Apple IPOD profits to that same Shell Company, (banks alone profit in the Cayman Islands courtesy of the 1%). That opens the JOBS/APPLE 'financial' path to abusing American taxpayers. Apple takes a 700 MILLION dollar write-off on their 2010 taxes for... you guessed it.... losses on the IPOD Royalties he offshored in the Cayman Islands. Poor Jobs/Apple, not profitable after all, let's give them a big congressional Repuke BooHoo and tax deduction. Nothing spiritual about that. However, Steve does reiterate the truth to the saying.... 'It is easier for a Camel to pass through the eye of a needle then it is for a Rich person (Steve Jobs) to get to heaven. word!
