Now comes 'Worldwide Unfollow Charlie Sheen Day'

It didn't take long. Less than one week passed before Charlie Sheen had signed up to Twitter, amassed 2 million followers — and irritated enough people that now a publication is calling for Friday to be "Worldwide Unfollow Charlie Sheen on Twitter Day."

The Village Voice is pushing the campaign. The newly fired Sheen, who posted his first tweet just last Tuesday, has been entertaining those who follow his tweets with a variety of "Winning"-related aphorisms, but the crowd may be growing weary.

"Watching Charlie Sheen flame out again has been amusing, in part, but, much like his porn stars, we've taken to hiding in the bathroom and cringing," wrote Jen Doll on the Village Voice's blog. "That is to say, we've come to desire a rapid end of our time with him for a number of reasons. Among his "crimes," she writes:

• Repeated violence to women (he shot one, he threatened to behead another, and then there are the porn stars. Oh, the porn stars.)
• Spelling "corner" with a "k."
• Insulting Thomas Jefferson. Repeatedly.
• Certain men are now using him as a role model. This is not good.
• We're tired of #tigerblood and #winning. Really tired.
• Thinking about him and his porn star coterie is gross.
• He has kids. Come on.
• We have made him even more full of himself.
• It's not even Charlie Sheen tweeting, anyway.

Indeed, Sheen is now advertising for an intern, tied to help him with his social media campaign. There was no word on whether that intern will need to be a "goddess" to qualify.

He has crashed, now all we will see is the burn. The man is obviously delusional and in need of long-term psychiatric

care and possibly lifetime incarceration in a mental facility; before he actually does serious physical harm to his

children or one of his multiple female enablers . How do men like this succeed in attracting women anyway?

How do men like this succeed in attracting women anyway?

Easy. The money, expensive cars, a shot at being a "celebrity", etc. Most of us can't imagine wanting to be in the same room as the slim-ball, but there are plenty who will make a pact with the Devil to be part of his entourage.

It's true that Charlie screwed up, but come on, enough is enough. Give the guy credit for his acting abilities. He was the show, Two and a Half Men. I'm not condoning certain alleged tirades he performed. I'm just becoming very tired of the media bemoaning Charlie. There are important events that are being performed before our very eyes every day. Charlie is not one of them. Let him be!

The show was a success due to the supporting cast and writers. Sheen is the least talented of all the actors on the show. He never would have made it if he didn't have good writers and an excellent supporting cast.

I could see Charlie ending up cleaning up Fatty Arbuckle's reputation by comparison. Kind of like Carter rising in Presidential polls.

An INTERN? Can't he afford to hire a REAL assistant?

Apparently, you don't know how to check facts. Sheen CAN afford to hire the intern. It's a PAID position.

        Lol right!

        @ Haggard old Man.

I bet he would get paid what you make in 5 years just to say, "I'm going to Disney World!" in 3 seconds.

Enough already! Gas prices are outrageous, people can't pay their mortgages, can't feed their families, and Charlie Sheen wants to "whine" about being mistreated! He needs to get over himself and remember that he has children! What mother would want their child to see this kind of behavior? As a mother myself, I wouldn't want my child to see this! GROW UP, Charlie Sheen!

Why doesn't his father Martin Sheen get him commtted and take mercy on the rest of us. Charlie Sheen is clearly a danger to others (women) and to our sanity if not himself. This fool is o nly a star (celebrity) because his father is a really good actor. I never saw Charlie Sheen do anything that another actor couldn't do better. His last name is his o nly asset.

Dang! I didn't know this was happening, otherwise I would have waited until Friday to UnFollow him. For the life of me, I can't figure out why I actually decided to follow him in the first place! I can't help but feel sorry for him in a lot of ways. He's missing out on so much GOOD stuff by alienating himself from the entire world. Anyone who is his friend now is just waiting to pickup some of the spoils when he finally crashes and burns. A sad statement on *their* integrity!!

Yeah, and maybe we don't follow him because he is either mentally ill or experiencing a drug-induced psychosis.

Everybody loves to look at the train that has wrecked just like Charlie Sheen, we are waiting for the final crash. That is his only appeal to the public.
